Davao City, February 27, 2024 – The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. held its 2nd General Membership Meeting at Acacia Hotel, Davao City, with 116 members and guests and members in attendance, all eager to learn the recent updates on income taxes.
Fulfilling its commitment to provide valuable insights to its members, DCCCII invited tax partners from SGV, Ms. Saha Adlawan-Bulagsak and Atty. Thyrza Marbas, to serve as resource speakers. They shared their expertise and knowledge, shedding light on the latest updates in tax laws, particularly the RA No. 11976 or the Ease of Paying Tax Act with a focus on facilitating value-added tax implications for businesses.
To add an interactive element, five early bird members were given the opportunity to showcase their businesses and companies during the PitchBiz segment. The members also witnessed the induction of new members and the introduction of new committee chairpersons, who pledged their dedication to serving the Davao Chamber and its members.
In the spirit of Albert Einstein’s famous quote, “The hardest thing in the world to understand is income taxes,” the members of the Davao City Chamber had a unique opportunity to understand the complexities of taxation. The event not only provided a platform to stay informed about the latest tax updates but also facilitated networking opportunities among the diverse array of companies present at the 2nd GMM.
